Controller

Walid is the Controller at The New York Climate Exchange, where he leads budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, and supports the development of scalable financial systems during a period of organizational growth. With over 15 years of experience in nonprofit and international finance, Walid brings deep expertise in GAAP accounting, audit management, and complex grant compliance. 

Before joining The Exchange, Walid held senior finance roles supporting global climate and development initiatives across multi-entity organizations. He is known for strengthening internal controls, improving financial transparency, and aligning finance with strategy to support effective stewardship and long-term impact. 

Outside of work, Walid enjoys spending time with family, traveling, staying active, and following global football.
