Events Associate

Sonja is an Events Associate at The Exchange, where she supports the planning and delivery of a range of events that engage partners and the public in advancing the climate agenda.

Sonja has a background in communications and external relations, previously serving as Communications Manager for the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, where she supported programming for the SDGs and the Paris Agreement. She has also worked in environmental advocacy, with experience as an organizer for the Sierra Club and the Student Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs). She holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Outside of work, you can find her exploring Brooklyn by bike, browsing the farmers' market, or relaxing in one of the city's parks.
