Khadhazha Welch

Khadhazha Welch is a dynamic research analyst and environmental advocate with a rich blend of academic, professional, and community-driven accomplishments. She has spearheaded impactful projects, including community mapping with the Kings County District Attorney's Office and contributing to critical studies, such as her published autoethnography, Pandemic Deepens Food Inequality in Brooklyn. Featured by Penn State Publishing and the NYU Food and COVID-19 NYC Digital Archive Collection, this work has also appeared in Black Perspectives, highlighting her expertise in food justice and social inequality.
Khadhazha’s thought leadership extends to public speaking, with engagements at the Black Google Network, Black Vegan Fest, the American Studies Association, and The Wolfe Institute. Her contributions center on climate change, environmental racism, herbalism, and policy reform, offering innovative insights into these pressing global issues.
As a dedicated community organizer, Khadhazha has organized events ranging from plant swaps and beach cleanups to mental health workshops and school improvement initiatives throughout Brooklyn.
Khadhazha holds a B.A. in Political Science from Brooklyn College and is pursuing an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management at The New School. Her expertise in policy advocacy, environmental justice, and community development reflects her commitment to creating a sustainable and equitable future.
