Evan Aanerund

Finance Manager

Evan Aanerud (he/him) brings a diverse and impactful background in nonprofit finance to The New York Climate Exchange. Most recently, he served a wide range of organizations—including theatre, dance, advocacy, and other arts institutions—as a Finance Consultant at Arts Financial Management Services. There, Evan oversaw all financial operations, from budget management and forecasting to financial statements and day-to-day activities. His work focused on empowering executive and organizational leaders to make strategic financial decisions grounded in robust data and thoughtful planning.

Evan’s experience also includes roles at Interlochen Center for the Arts, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), and Pittsburgh Opera. In response to pandemic-related needs, he organized a national mutual aid fund for emerging arts and cultural professionals facing financial hardship.

Evan holds a Master’s in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota Morris. Outside of the office, Evan enjoys city walks with his dog and buying new candles.
