Join the 2025 AI x City Climate Action Forum, a premier event hosted by the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy (GCoM) and the New York Climate Exchange together with IBM, during Climate Week NYC.
We are at a defining intersection of our time: cities, climate change, and artificial intelligence (AI). Cities and local governments are on the frontlines, managing service delivery all while confronting escalating climate risks, bringing down emissions, and now navigating the use of AI. The ambitious, inclusive, and ethical deployment of AI offers a transformative opportunity to accelerate climate action. This event is designed to bridge the gap between technological potential and the practical, people-centered solutions that city governments need.
Join us as we bring together city leaders, AI innovators, and climate experts to showcase and scale the next generation of urban climate solutions.
Event Details:
Date: Monday, September 22, 2025

The finale of the 2025 AI x City Climate Action Hackathon, where 20 global finalists will pitch their innovative solutions for urban energy and city-led climate action identification.
A keynote address from Dr. Angel Hsu, leading expert from the University of North Carolina, on the opportunity of AI for city climate action.
A high-level forum with roundtable discussions featuring leading city authorities, AI experts from IBM, NY Climate Exchange, and partners including C40 Cities, Tech to the Rescue, Hack for Earth, Urban Systems Lab and ClimateTRACE.
The announcement of the hackathon winners, who will receive seed funding and partnership support from the Urban Transitions Mission, Cambridge University, and others, to pilot their projects in real-world city environments.
This is more than a showcase; it is a platform for action. Building on the success of last year's winner, Cooling Singapore, whose team successfully piloted its AI model in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, our mission is to turn promising ideas into tangible impact.
